Quick timer
15 Minute Timer
Set to 15 minutes and ready to go. Press start.
Sound settings
A quarter of an hour
Fifteen minutes is the sweet spot for lots of everyday jobs. It's long enough to finish something and short enough that it never feels like a slog. The timer opens set to 15:00, so you can press start straight away.
People use it for a proper tea break, a power nap, tidying the kitchen, a short study burst, a quick workout, timing a roast or a batch of biscuits, reading with kids, or a stand-up meeting that needs a hard stop. Teachers often use it for group work or silent reading.
Tips
For a power nap, lie down first and then press start, so the alarm goes off after fifteen minutes of actual rest. Drag the ring if you want 12 or 18 minutes instead; it snaps to whole minutes. Repeat runs another fifteen automatically, and Copy link shares the exact time. For a longer block try the 30 minute timer, or for a structured study session the Pomodoro timer.
Frequently asked questions
Is 15 minutes a good length for a nap?
Many people find 10 to 20 minutes refreshing without waking up groggy. Fifteen minutes sits right in the middle of that range.
Can I change it to a different time?
Yes. Tap another preset, drag the ring or type minutes and seconds into the Custom boxes.
Will it keep running if I switch tabs or lock my screen?
Yes. The timer works from your device clock, so it stays accurate in a background tab, and the tab title shows the time left. If your phone locks, the countdown carries on, but some phones delay sound until you unlock, so keep the screen on for anything important.
