For teachers
Classroom Timer
Huge digits, a visual ring and a calm alarm. Made to read from the back of the room.
Sound settings
Built for the projector
This classroom timer is designed to be seen from across the room. The digits are extra large, the ring shows at a glance how much time is left, and the last ten seconds turn coral so students know to wrap up. Press full screen (or F) and everything else disappears except the timer and its controls.
Use the quick buttons for common activity lengths, from a two minute pack-up to a thirty minute task, or drag the ring to any number of minutes. There are no ads inside the timer, no sign-up and nothing for students to click on by accident.
Ideas for using it
Silent reading, group work rotations, test sections, brain breaks, tidy-up time, think-pair-share, presentations and transitions between lessons. A visible timer helps students manage their own time and cuts down on "how long left?" questions.
For changing activities on repeat, the interval timer runs rounds automatically, and the stopwatch is handy for timing experiments.
Frequently asked questions
Will the screen go to sleep during the timer?
On most modern browsers, the page asks the device to keep the screen awake while the timer runs.
Can I turn the sound off?
Yes. Use the bell button. The digits still pulse at zero so the class can see time is up.
Does it work on an interactive whiteboard?
Yes. You can drag the ring with a finger or pen, and every button is large enough to tap.
