How to turn the music on
Open Sound settings under the timer, tick Background music and pick Lo-fi or Calm piano. Nothing is downloaded until you do. The music loops while you work and the alarm plays over it when time is up.
Music suits a Pomodoro session, a study block or a cleaning sprint. For steady sound for sleep, the white noise timer is a better fit.

Why is the music off?
So the page stays quiet and light until you ask for it. It remembers your choice on this device.
Will it work if my screen locks or I close the tab?
Only while the page is open. The countdown keeps time from your device clock in a background tab, but phones and laptops can pause or silence web pages when they sleep, lock or close the tab. For anything that really matters, also set your device's own alarm.
